The social distancing and mask restrictions at the 2021 Grammy Awards on Sunday, March 14, did not stop the night’s top celebrities from pulling out all the gems for the big event, from statement necklaces to gorgeous necklaces and bracelets loaded with diamonds. Here are our top three favorite diamond jewelry moments of the night:
Lizzo, who attended the 63rd annual show as a presenter, came dripping in diamonds and the most talked about piece of bling was the snake-shaped necklace she wrapped around her neck. The “Juice” singer, rapper, songwriter and flutist accessorized her mint green Balmain dress with seven pieces of serpent jewelry and two show-stopping rings, making one of the biggest jewelry statements of the evening.
Around her neck was a white gold diamond necklace set with a pear-shaped brilliant-cut diamond (1.15 carats), 37 pear-cut diamonds (7.91 carats) and pavé diamonds (42.67 carats). On her ears were a pair of white-gold and diamond earrings totaling 5.11 carats and on her wrist, she wore two white-gold and diamond bracelets that totaled 6.18 carats. Her rings, which included one white-gold serpent-shaped diamond ring and two platinum high-jewelry diamond rings, had a total of 28.67 carats.
Megan Thee Stallion came to the award show wearing regal jewelry and by the end of the night, she went home with also three Grammy Awards for Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance (“Savage,” Megan Thee Stallion featuring Beyoncé) and Best Rap Song (also for “Savage”). She paired her custom Dolce & Gabbana bright orange gown with custom orange heels and a diamond necklace that featured 91.70 carats of diamonds set in 18-carat white gold and a stunning scalloped design. She also wore an 83.42-carat diamond bracelet set in 18-karat white gold. She completed the look with another piece that had 33.8 carats of pear-shaped diamonds set in 18-karat white gold, and a 3.31-carat round brilliant-cut diamond ring that was surrounded by 6.47 carats of diamonds, also set in 18-karat white gold.
The night marked a few firsts for the rapper: this was her first appearance at the music industry’s biggest night, she took home three awards and she was the first female rapper to win best new artist in more than 20 years.
Country singer Ingrid Andress, who was nominated for Best New Artist, also dressed to impress with her high fashion jewels. While the “Lady Like” singer lost a Grammy to Megan Thee Stallion, she had photographers unable to look away from her sleek white Armani Privé pant suit that she left open to reveal a necklace cascading down her chest, which was reportedly made of crystal. However, the real showstoppers were on her ears and fingers. Her drop diamond earrings were adorned in 21.59 carats of diamonds set in white gold. She wore a few rings, including one made of 2.67 carats of diamonds set in 18K white gold and 1.32 carats of diamonds set in 18K white gold; a ring featuring 6.06 carats of diamonds set in 18K white gold; a handful of diamonds and 18-karat white gold rings.
